How do you become a prime minister of the Netherlands?

Apply for this top position? That is not possible. But you can join a political party. Elections to the House of Representatives are held every four years. If you are the party leader, and your party becomes the largest, and comes into government, you can park your bicycle at the coolest tiny office in the Netherlands: Het Torentje.

As prime minister you tower above the other ministers. You are the chairman of the council of ministers, you keep the agenda, and everyone is attentive. "It is useful if you speak your languages, because you are also a bit of the flagship of the Netherlands, together with the king. And not only that: you are responsible for everything he does. What a job!

Valuable skills for a prime minister are a bit of leadership, knowledge of society, and oh yes: an elephant skin. You can expect a lot of criticism from the 17 million other Prime Ministers of the Netherlands.
